We met a lot of the neighbors tonight. It was cool. Evelyn, Michael, and Chris/Paula, and Ms. Jesse. They’re all SUPER nice. We prayed for a good move in and a blessing on the house. I really want the house to stay in good shape without us just obsessing over it. How do you make something so huge, and such a part of your life not your life? It’s all gonna burn, as a close friend of ours might say. And that’s something good to remember.

We are now officially homeowners in Pflugerville, Texas.
We went by the house yesterday to do the final walkthrough and met the soon-to-be-former owners of the house. It was SUPER cool. They were terribly nice to us and very easy to talk to. We found out about the house and about the neighborhood. Andrea was VERY excited when we left.
Oh, and we have a peach tree too. Very cool.
Afterward we decided to go to Grandy’s, but it turned out to be shut down–which was disappointing, but we found a “Short Stop” anyway. It was a lot of fun.
Anyway… we close this afternoon.. tomorrow evening we’re having a picnic at the house with the Demchsaks. Should be fun.
…every new begining comes from some other begining’s end.
We’re closing on the house on Wednesday at 4:00. SO COOL! And tonight we’re going to go wander around the Container Store and Home Depot and Sams and look for all the things that will make the house so cute.
And this is what we will remember : cute things don’t make a house a home… but they sure are fun!
So, I’ve been challenged in the last few days to turn my notion of Church up on its ear. What is a “cell” group–not a splitting up of an existant church, but a growing of one that is beginning. How does it work? Is it “bible” based? Can it be a group of just 3 couples, and that be fine? How often? How does it all fit together.
Well, we intend on changing how we look at “church”… to minister to people by loving them, and getting to know what their needs are–and trying to help meet them. Isn’t that what “church” is supposed to be?

Well, this site went live at about 2:00 AM after a lot of work on the wishlist. Everything should be pretty good at this point, barring a few incidents that I’m sure will come along.
The new wishlist is improved, and I’m looking forward to using it. All the old data was imported beautifully. However, the Approx. Prices are messed up, so go fix yours
Also, the Recipe book is looking good. More recipes will be added in the near future, once the house is up and ready.
Our Calendar is there so that anyone that wants to keep up with us can. It’ll have major dates on it so anyone can keep track of what’s up with us.
Alright.. it’s time for bed!
I went to the bus stop today, and as I waited for my bus to come, a guy carrying a Watchtower came up to me and the guy sitting next to me and tried to, timidly, ask if we were interested in a copy of the magazine.
The man sitting to my left had tattoos coming out from under his clothes, rasta-like hair to the bottom of his back, a goatee, a cowboy hat, and a newspaper. He responded by saying “Listen, I went to seminiary for 4 years, I’m a Christian, and I don’t like organized religion shoved into my face, you know.. judge not lest ye be judged.”
The young man in the suit and tie turned to me and said “Would you like this?” to which I replied “No, thank you.”
Now, you’d never have guessed the guy that looked like a member of White Zombie would be a Christian or have gone to seminary. Maybe he didn’t. But I’m amazed at how spiritual Austin is, and how far from organized religion they want to be. Everyone wants their own self-oriented religion, so they don’t have to subscribe to any hard idologies. And yet they yearn for spirituality.
*sigh*
Well.. it’s not here yet… just 20 weeks along–but it’s a boy.
The Simoneaus will welcome there first baby boy into the world in September or October.
Very cool!
