Picture, if you will, this little boy putting on his hat and saying
I had an interesting experience yesterday. I was told a fair amount of bad news and experienced stressors that would have probably spiraled me into depression at one point or another over the last month, but in the morning, before anything happened, I had my quiet time and decided to have a good attitude all day.
It mad a *huge* difference.
We were told that we had to stay until 6:00 every day. I was happy to oblige, despite how drastically that changes my schedule. Some people in my office had some bad things happen to them and their attitudes reflected it. I sat in traffic too long. But it was all okay!
Of course, it also helps that my wife is being so *very* supportive and loving during all of this crazy time. Our kids are doing great too.
Did I mention that Bethany rolled over? That’s something to be joyful about. She sorta found herself on her tummy and didn’t know what to do. Pretty cute, I say.
week. I got to the gig on Friday and was in the worst mood I can remember being in in a very long time.
The gig went really well, though, and when I got home, Andrea and I had a good talk. I woke up on Saturday to a woman who had already gone to various garage sales and brough home a tricycle, a small basketball goal (plastic) and a big plastic chest/toy-box. We were in such a good mood that we decided to go run errands all together. We dropped off our stuff at Goodwill (no garage sale for us, thank you!), went to Guitar Center (to play the drums!) and then went shopping at the mall for my Christmas Present. We ended up getting ice cream and running into a sale at JC Penny’s–so I got a wallet, a belt, a couple pair of shorts, and a nice new shirt–all for less than $90–NOT BAD.
We chilled out the rest of the day, and had a pretty good Sunday. I stayed up last night until 1AM trying to finish my coding assignment for today–came close enough to call it complete since it’s not deliverable. Needless to say, I’m pretty tired — but I feel about 100 times better than last week!
