Trying My Hand at It

So, my not-quite-three year old, Timothy is now able to put his shoes (sandals) on by himself. He even gets them on the right feet! It’s really impressive! I don’t think I could do that when I went off to kindergarten. Wow.

Oh, and speaking of filling big shoes, Timothy is big into the story of David and Goliath. It’s funny because he wants to play the game where Daddy is Goliath and he’s David. I stand up and say “Who will fight the likes of me… HA HA HA!” in a big booming voice and then he slings his arm like he’s throwing a rock. I fall down.

Then he tells me to get up again.

Well, tonight I said “No, I like being ‘Dead-Goliath’” Andrea cracked up–but I just figured it was the best way to avoid expending lots of energy :)

But now you dads have good advice for when your boy (or girl) wants to kill a giant.

In God’s Country — 8/26/2007 – Houston, TX

Last night, Caedmon’s Call played out together for the first time in 6 years.. at least as a whole band with Derek. Their latest album, Overdressed is their best since Derek left the band several years back.

This morning, I got to participate in an interview because of my affiliation with FaithVine. It was really cool to see! I now have a new respect for Cliff as a human being. He’s really the band leader–he may not be the best player or writer, but he’s definitely the leader. He was well spoken and knew how to cut up for the camera. I got to meet Andrew Osenga and ask him when “Volume 2″ of Letters to the Editor was coming out. It was also fun to meet and get to visit with Bryan of www.caedmonscall.net. Everyone was very approachable and easy to talk to. And they were all pretty funny. There were several jokes about getting in line tonight to buy the album since it was going to be “Harry Potter style mania.”

All in all, it was sweet to see a band I’ve enjoyed so much be such real people. I guess most of them are, but I never think they will be–they seem so much bigger than real life.

Hello, everyone. Sorry about the lack of pictures lately! Some new ones are up, and you can expect more soon. Mark had to set it all up for me, but I actually helped post them!
