I’ve gone for years listening to various albums ad nauseum, soaking in as much as possible with multiple listens a day for each record.   The most memorable of these was “The Colour and the Shape” by the Foo Fighters, which I wore down over the course of months while working at a state job.   The latest album that I find myself infatuated with is The Decemberists‘ “The Hazards of Love” — which is, to my knowledge, the truest concept album with a wide audience since the 70s.

I saw them perform it live at ACL (though it was from the comfort of my living room) and I loved it.   After multiple listens, I’m all the more intrigued by the musical and lyrical intricacies and the fun storytelling.
